This is an introductory lecture to Radiotherapy, presented by Martin Christlieb who works in the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford. This department is responsible for doing cancer research and focuses specifically on radiotherapy treatment. This 20-minute lecture gives a brief overview into the application of x-rays and other forms of radiation and how they are used to treat cancer.
Originally, we would have learned through flat, 2D diagrams, but through VR we can see how these effects make learning more memorable, thus producing a better understanding of the research. Inside ENGAGE, lectures can be recorded and played back at any stage. This example shows how PowerPoint presentations can be included inside the lecture, and then the use of immersive effects can bring these presentations to life.
This lecture is part of a 10-part collaborative series, recorded in conjunction with University of Oxford. Each lecture was recorded using motion sensor tracking. You can find the lecture inside the ENGAGE platform.
